Arbori multiseculari, la Hepa și Ulma

Pădurile dau Bucovinei un farmec aparte. Protejarea unor arbori seculari, ca monumente ale naturii, devine un demers necesar, în contextul defrișărilor ilegale.

Tuia (Thuja plicata) din cătunul Hepa

Localnicii spun ca tuia californiană din satul lor ar avea aproximativ 200 de ani. Aclimatizarea la altitudini mari și maiestuozitatea fac exemplarul foarte interesant.

Fagul (Fagus sylvatica) din satul Ulma

Coordonate GPS: 47°53’33.2″N 25°19’05.6″E. Localnicii spun că ar avea aproximativ 1000 de ani. Informația este neverosimilă, având în vedere că fagii trăiesc cel mult 300 de ani. Circumferința tulpinii și forma coroanei fac exemplarul impunător. Arborele are circumferința tulpinii de 7,85 m, diametrul coroanei de 25 m și o înălțime de aproximativ 17 m, cam cât un bloc cu 5 etaje.
